Bedside Tables (My first piece of furniture)
Hi all
As a 30th present for my sister in law I agreed to make her some bedside tables. She didn't really have a brief other than she wanted them to be white and provided me with the overall dimensions and a few examples. Most of which were very modern, Scandinavian etc. As a wood worker I had to add a touch of timber.
Knowing I had all these mitres to glue up I was a little naughty I splurged on a Festool Domino. What an excellent machine.
This was my first piece of furniture so I learned a lot of new skills and took my time. Fixing mistakes along the way. On this journey I had my first child and a couple of lockdowns and in the end I managed to deliver the gift only 8 months late!
I used 25mm MR MDF for the base cabinets, white melamine MDF for the draw sides and back, red oak ply for the draw bottom and American white oak draw fronts. I used the Grass Dynapro undermount draw slides with push to open and soft close.
I have to say the adjustment on these slides is awesome. Onto the pictures

Great job, Samo. Especially for a first piece. Well done.
You remained true to the client's specification (which can be difficult when your taste is very different to the client) and produced a very pretty piece.

These look awesome, I'd be stoked to receive them. I think the timber in drawer fronts really pop and is accentuated by the neutral carcass.
