Wait till I show you some picks of the top with some finish on it Christos. I have put two coats on the underside but have forgotten to bring my camera home.

Unfortunately I was only in Buttaba, Newcastle for two nights on a stop over going up and coming back down staying at BIL's - otherwise I would have given it a shot.

Two coats on the underside, attached the "hardware", butter knife, small fork and a penny. Not too much on this one. Fittted the legs, detached the legs, rolled over and planed the top flat, sanded ready for some finish tomorrow. Just have to tidy up the natural edges in the morning.

Another beauty big fella Jeez it'd be hard to go past Blackwood for looks, sort of looks more like wood that many other woods. Have you any theories on it being so heavy grown on an iron pot, down a gully, by a creek, green eggs and ham, sorry

Also very hard on blades Springy, I have had to sharpen everything I have used on it. May have come from a high silica area, sandy area, not sure, just dense and abrasive.

Mate, that top is stunning.
Can't wait to see it with the finish on. The natural edge looks great. Beautiful job.
I believe your small fork is a cake fork. Those were the droids I was looking for.

I believe you are right Tony, you get the cake. I should get the first coat on this morning and then this arvo I have to do a job at Potters Brewery (at Pokolbin) on a 9m long slab table (single slab) that needs some love. Came from Thailand apprently, they have 2 of them.
