    Congrats on the little guy

You'd better hurry up on the box - he'll be too big for it soon

    Default coming together

the pieces are starting to come together . . . a bit rough in these pics, i'm trying to do the fine tuning to get them to fit right. So far I've improved it from these shots.

Its been a wild ride with the arrival of my son, Blake, but I've managed to get a bit done here and there.

I'm going to put a chessboard in the lid, finish it with shellac in a pseudo french polish. The board leaning against the bench is the lid, the plywood is the bottom. I have some veneer that I will play with on the interior.

Unable to upload photos - will try again later

This is the design for the inside of the American Oak sides - walnut, eucalyptus and chestnut. Ambitious? I've carved out the space for the inlay. Originally wasnt going to do anything, but accidentally carved out a groove where there shouldn't have been one and need to fill the space . . . the groove was for the rear shelf, and went all the way across the side instead of only for where the shelf is to go . . oh well, it will look nice with this on the side.

Oh no! i can't see the last post images, not sure if it's my computer though

Nice looking box there by the way, i like the addition of the inlay. Did you stop the dovetails at the back due to time constraints?

I dont know why you can see them. I havent checked on another computer. Maybe someone else can offer up if they can see them or not.

I didnt do dovetails on the rear because they were such a huge pain in the a$$ . . .

I am not able to see the images. I expect that these might not have uploaded to the wood work site. I have had a similar thing happen to me in the past.
