Very nice. The turned feet are tiny but really bring the table together.

All done!

Actually...not quite done. The coat of WOP I applied 24 hours before was STILL tacky. I don't understand this because the test coat I applied on a misty/drizzly day up here was touch dry within 2 hours. And yet in significantly warmer Sydney weather it's not dry in 24.
As a result it has attracted a layer of dust and a couple of handprints from manhandling it into the lift, and of course I couldn't apply the second coat of WOP. Beats me. Hafta go back in a week or so.

And as a result the table smelt like a cricket bat from the Linseed Oil.
Apparently the smell of LO can bring on labour, or so it seems - DIL had a little girl this morning! The labour started about 4 hours after the table arrived, so that sounds like proof of the theory to me.

You should've told me that a coupe of weeks ago, Brett - my DIL finally sprogged, two weeks late, last week! The little tyke really didn't want to leave the nest, and caused a bit of trouble, but according to son, she's now doing fine on an ample diet of single-source, fair trade, organic, free-range tucker. At least I know what to tell them if the next one's tardy.....
Cheers,
Cheers,IW

Congratulations Brett. Surely you’re now going to make something for your granddaughter?

The table and birth deliveries are now inextricably linked?

Pappy Brett, WOW!
Now you'll have to become a Toymaker sir , making some beautiful hand made wooden toys for girls including some trucks too!
Well done on the table and the granddaughter Brett.
Cheers Peter
PS - Spoil them to bits and give them back to mum and dad!!
