    Nice colour in that slab.

At least the shavings are easier to sweep up than sawdust.

I don't have any mates left either.

Nancy boys.....My bench loves big slabs.

Did much, much, much more planing today.
Took out pretty much all of the twist and flattened both sides. Have started smoothing and removing tear out from the scrub.
I would have taken some photos but I cant raise my arms much higher than my waist
The top has some nice figure and a discoloured piece in the middle which gives it some character.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

I made a mess of the nancy-boy bench today and loved every minute of it. I have been pushing around my SCMS on an old BBQ trolley with bowed and wobbly wheels, so I have made a torsion box base for it and put on some nice heavy duty castors. It is so nice to have a dozen different ways to clamp things down!

Now, if you will excuse me, I have to go and clean and pamper the bench and make it look purty again

Tony you need to teach Midgy to take the photos, she's deffinitely smart enough. You might need to give her a box to stand on though.
We need some photos Grogs, tony won't mind a small hijack on his thread I'm sure.

She has my old iPhone (no SIM). It has about 300 photos that she has taken. Most are of the ceiling, floor, her fingers, her foot or some indestinguishable object. 1 or 2 are recognisable.
Groggy I think the term Claw has been searching for is REAL bench.
And go for it, whack some snaps in of ze stand.

    Thumbs up

Great to see the bench works NC.

Real men, like Claw, are simply envious!

Nice slab too. Just watch you don't drop it on the vacuum cleaner!

No chance of that Artme. The slab is well secured on the REAL bench.
She wanted to help yesterday so she stood on the slab and pushed the No.7 in front of her as she walked along the slab. I let her keep the shaving she made. (I'm so generous)

Nothing fancy here. Started out as a BBQ trolley, got a new top for the SCMS, then the wheels got wobbly so I made a torsion box for the base. The only original bit of the BBQ trolley left is the four uprights so it is a bit like Paddy's axe.

The wheels are brilliant, smooth and stable even with the weight. I'll be adding a cabinet later to get a more storage. The torsion box was made out of scrap that was 5mm narrower than I needed so I still have a small insert to put in at the back.

Hell Claw, Miss Midgy has been to Groggy's place with her new vax machine, see how spotless that 'thingy' passing as a drop/mitre saw table is, not a speck of saw dust visible anywhere,
Then again, she would probably talk the leg of cast iron bath if anything like my 5yo G'daughter.

The apprentice is 3yrs old next week and I reckon she could talk the leg off your 5yr old grand daughter as well as a cast iron bath. Groggy's shop always looks like that. He has a problem

Tom, my monitors have roughly the same footprint. I run two 19 inch. I'll have a play with the shelf and see what looks best. Will probably be a case of best grain on top.
I built a slab computer table for my sister in law and to keep the top clear, she ended up getting a wall mount for the monitor and a wireless keyboard and mouse set. the keyboard and mouse were stowed away when not in use leaving a completely clear desktop (apart from all the paperwork....)
I forgot what i was taught, I only remember what I have learnt
