    Default Book case kit

    Called in at my local extreme IKEA today and got a book case kit they forgot to give me the Allan key to assemble it with any one have a spare?

    Two things are infinite: the universe and human stupidity; and I´m not so sure about the universe.

    Did they include the cornice moulding too? What style is the bookcase?

    Similar to the kitchen cupboard, Rhonda has been busy with the pad and has it all worked out. will post some pictures when I have it finished.

    Phil,

    I'd suggest you get two allen keys. Cut one so it's straight (cut off the L) and you can stick that in your cordless drill/screwdriver. Set the torque on low, and away you go.

    REAL Ikea shelving units now use a variety of fasteners, preferably in several sizes & shapes, all in the one kit - phillips, posi, star (various), square and hex. I now have a pile of little 'Z' shaped winders with assorted ends - strangely they don't supply posi or phillips drivers.

    Coming along nicely. If you're anything like me, by the time you have it finished, your library will have doubled and you'll have to start another bookcase.

    Slowly it is coming together, it is al together now dry fitted, just have to fit the back the drawer pulls and sand and paint/varnish it.
