The shed is accessible and dry so I have started finishing (sounds weird) the birdcage spindles for the black walnut top. As BD seems to be food fixated I have photographed it on my lunch plate - tuna and cucumber on wholemeal bread.
    Cheers,
    Jim

Your spindles look very good indeed.

Thanks WW and Peter. Just come indoors to quench my thirst. Only one more to go now. By the way that ain't pepper, that's breadcrumbs.

My part in the brace of tilt-top tables is nearly done. Just a couple of washers to turn. BD can choose any four from five with the spindles.

    Jim
    Nice work

Can I have one in a bread roll?

    I'd take 1,2,4,& 5
    or 1, 3, 4 & 5
or maybe ... ah it's too hard, I retired so I didn't have to make decisions
    regards

I'll take all five, and maybe make a special birdcage. Nice work Jim!

That oyster top is almost finished. A bit more smoothing to go, fitting the battens, sorting the edges etc. Did I say almost finished?

Perhaps I just finished in time, it's started raining again.

Some time in the shed this afternoon. So I had a crack at the birdcage blocks, pruned down the pedestalettes, cut the pintles, and got the ‘cage sitting correctly, with all holes drilled.

I don’t know why Jim thinks his part is almost done; there’s a pair of collars to fit inside each birdcage at the very least!

The third picture is a serving suggestion...

Only one collar inside each birdcage surely.
Have you stained the spindles or is it a trick of the light?
    Not too bad I suppose.

    Jim

It's looking really well, but I hope you're going to plane off that back corner between the pintles!
