    I've used a bit of Bunya in the past, had similar experiences, the timber is
    essentially very soft but those knots are rock hard, best to keep your chisels
    very sharp. This timber can be quite striking when finished.

    That' interesting. I used to live not that far from the Bunya Mountains, and it's not a timber much used for furniture, although its cousin Hoop pin was.
