    Default repairing drying degrade

    Hi all,
Getting some more done on this project, made up the 4 side panels, one I had to do some repair work on, took some pics of the process...

The resawn boards showing the splits
    Attachment 134582Attachment 134583

now I have a big hole to fill
    Attachment 134586

resawed a piece in half that might work.......... and cut them to form more of a vee
    Attachment 134584Attachment 134585

    all pieces rough cut
    Attachment 134587

routing the curve......................and then glued into each half
    Attachment 134588Attachment 134589

testing both halves to see how they look,
(I increased the vee in the insert pieces).........and both halves glued together
    Attachment 134590Attachment 134591

think I got the intersection somewhere close

panel with the inserts..................and the 4 panels

The extra work on the panels is paying off.
I make things, I just take a long time.

Those work-arounds are excellent, much better than plugging with resin. Looking good.

I think that we all got something that did not go exactly as planned.

    Hi all,
A few pics of latest progress.....

Parts sanded ready for glue up, side and face frame glued and clamped
    Attachment 137853Attachment 137852Attachment 137854

Laying out the boards for the top, top glued and clamped and a bit of inlay close up, continuation of the bookmatched segment theme, allthough these pieces are one piece, hope it will look okay in the finish.

The finished product should be extra special because the raw state looks pretty special.
