    Default Cabriolet table

    Hi all,

Without commuting to the city I'm getting some more shed time in so im getting ready for my first big (non shop) project.

I'm a big fan of the cabriolet table from woodworking masterclass season 1
    YouTube

I'm would love to make this for my mrs but i can't find any plans. For the drawer part i can base upon other furniture but its the legs that have me stumped.

Are there any rules in regards to cabriolet cabriolet leg shape?
Some posts suggest certain ratios between the various parts of the leg guarantee a good look.

. I believe there's an article in fine woodworking but i don't wasn't to take out a sub just for that.

I know carbatec has a post on this build with a photo of the template Bob uses but my Photoshop skills are too rusty to turn that into something workable.

Any advice would be most welcome.

    Adam

    Taz,

I started by finding a leg I liked and then carefully tracing the shape onto cardboard. The shape was refined a little and then transferred onto 6 mm MDF by cutting the shape out of the cardboard and laying that over the MDF. The MDF then became the template for the legs. Worked just fine.

Just make sure you can draw a vertical line through the leg such that this line is always in wood. If this is the case, the leg is holding in compression and will be strong.
