Hello Chasps, yes my snuff box, helps get me through the day.
Well actually its my bees wax that I use on my plane soles, saw blades etc. The container was made by kids at the ceramics gallery, I usually buy a heap of stuff from the kids group and use them as glue dishes, paint brush pots etc.
Ok todays progress, finished cutting the dt's glue up was super fast, it took so long to get the glue on the dt's I just had time to bang them together, snug fits so almost no clamping. Only clamped for a few minutes and then a little snug in with a sash clamp on the diaganal to get it spot on square so didn't get a chance to take photos.
A smooth off with the ROS and bingo. Attached the bottom, glued and screwed.
I picked up a smallish crosscut saw from my second hand tool dealer for $50, cleaned up the handle (some new bolts, a sand, some oil) ran the file over the teeth tonight before coming home so tomorrow I will grab Jack Hama and see how she flys.

    Thumbs up

    Noice!!

As kids we would stand, barefooted,on the timber we cut and as a result of this rustic method often wound up with lacerated toes! Imagine the results form that beast of Claw's!

Nice crosscut Claw; it'll give your biceps, flexors and extensors a good workout when you go to town with it. Ohhh...sweet memories

Hey guys, Nick funny you should mention the magic trick, look for my next quicky post.
The cross cut worked ok but as I suspected it is a "crosscut" and not a rip. I did look for a rip but very few left around these days. I cut almost half way down and the slice that cam off the back was perfect. I started by running the circular saw around the edge so I had a groove to keep the saw on track and have less to cut by hand, all went accorrding to plan. i did about a quarter of the way down before Tack Hama got there but by half way even with Tach Hama on the other end I had had enough, too slow. I will re-tooth the saw as rip and I think I'll be on a winner. It files quite easily so it won't be too big a job. So the second half was the chainsaw, very messy and the slice is very messed up. Tidied up the lid with the LV LAJ with the 50deg blade in works well on twisted grain. That was all Igot done on it yesterday as I had another quicky to do.

Oh the quicky is in the general woodturning section.

next update, 1/ lid is dowled and glued on. 2/ ditto 3/ off with its head, spacer to run circular saw against. 4/ putting a small bead around the opening with one of my great, great, grandfathers planes. 5/ Brass hinges going on. 6/ Brass lock going on, handles have gone on too. Tomorrow the brass comes back off and it will get a final sand and start getting coats of shellac. While the shellac dries I'll make the tray/lift out shelf. Going well.

No all solid Pete, just routed the slab. I am going to start using my g,g,granfathers old moulding planes where I can rather than the router. Too noisy can't hear the radio, too dusty etc.

Those hinges are smick, where'd you get them from?

Also like the screwdriver, got one myself and using them to fit nice cabinetry fittings feels the right place for them,
I make things, I just take a long time.
