Todays efforts, got the second shelf made and fitted, cut up the Kauri for the top, jointed, glued, routed an edge around it and test fitted. It will have to have a large piece cut out of it too for the glass top but I won't cut it untill I have the glass which I should get on Wednesday.

What are you talking about Christos, the cabinet? I find out what the client wants, look at their existing furniture etc discuss colour and features (this will/should look like it was put in the shop about 1920 by the time I'm finished). This one has to line up with an existing stone bench top, jut out into a plate glass shop window, cut back away from the front door at 45 deg, has a hob to jump, power points and a pabx phone box to miss, an uneven (very) floor and had to be made in pieces to get it in the door. Colour is to match (roughly) an existing bench.

    Did I miss anything Christos

    Too hard for me

But I'll watch and see what developes anyways

Sumitsubo ink line, like a chalk line only more acurate with a nice fine line. I often use it on long slabs where my straight edge is not long enough. I went to get my straight edge but it was buried under some timber so I just grabed the ink line.

Made fairly good progress today even after running around getting some invoices out to people, and going to my favorite demolition yard to get some skirting board and trim bits for the display cabinet. I got the skirt around the bottom, a little trim strip under the top edge, fixed the top down (removable so I can get the glass in etc) and used an old chair leg cut in half as a feature for the front of the cabinet. Tomorrow I should get the glass if all goes well.

    Hi Guys
Waldo, Ray, was wondering where you were Ray, hadn't seen much of you lately.
Don't worry the lathe will have its turn, I need this to look old school when I'm done and there is nothing like old stuff to look like old stuff. With a thick coat of gooy dark finish, maybe some names scratched into it, bewdyful. So where have you been, got a note from ya Mum?

No pics today, got the sliding doors on the back, a kick/skirt panel on the back bit more trim, some sanding. The glass didn't appear bugga, I rang thisarvo to see what had happened to it only to find that their hours are 8.30 - 2.30 bugga again, so will have to call them in the morning. Who has a shop with hours like that? So top your coffees up for tomorrow night. I like your ideas Pete, some chewy very cool, maybe boogers? Maybe not!
Ray, hope you are ok, stay warm, is your shed heated? I have been inflicted with a dry chest cough the last week or two, it's slowing me down and I don't think I better go diving on the Adelaide until it clears.
Ok, may go and crash early I think.
