Ok so I have been sanding this bastard quite a bit, mental note sand the thing to 400 before glueing up, also the epoxy I used is an absolute bastard to clean up so I've had some issues getting things neat and tidy.

I decided to use Danish oil on the base, I'm onto my second coat, I'll sand with 600 and the one more coat then finish with Ubuet traditional wax.

    The spotted gum is buet!

    Milo,

I'm not qualified to advise on the number of coats, but the table is looking great. I'm sure the new owner is going to love it.

FWIW my last project (side table) got 3 coats of shellac, brushed on, and then a light sand and wax.

All done! It turned out really really well! The French polishing with shellac ws challenging but it was awseome to try a new technique.

A big rap to U Buet polishes, the cutting paste really pulled the French polishing together I gave it a hit of traditional wax and wow I had to put my sunnies the surface was so shined, even the miss us was speechless! ....job done!

The customer is so wrapped!! I will post some pics when I deliver it to him.

I dropped the coffee table around last night and the client was just blown away! Stoked to say the least!

He immediatley whipped out two sets of brand new air jordan 7's (sneakers) and was like a kid in a candy store.

Not the best pic but it did look terrific!

    Cheers

    Bryan
