Default A Collector's Cabinet - Chest of Drawers

This is a "small" project that I have made as a gift for my wife on our anniversary.
It began as an idea sparked by a picture that I saw in a book of woodworking projects.
There were no plans, so it was a "make it up as you go" type for me.
It took far longer than I anticipated, but I finished it this afternoon.

The timber is southern silky oak.
    Tom

That's really nicely put together, Tom. Silly oak is such a lovely wood. I especially like the leg arcs. I might pinch that design myself.

Thank you Lyndon for the kind words.
This silky oak was slabbed by our members in the Hastings Woodworkers Guild, and because it wasn't radially cut, it missed out on showing its flecked grain - except here and there.
It still came up OK though.
You are welcome to use the design - I wish I could say that it was original, but I saw it as a picture in a book and liked it.
Not obvious in these pictures is the fact that the drawers increase in depth from top to bottom

this is wonderful, there's something special about a well made set of small drawers, let alone one with such beautiful wood as this.
