Hi Shannon,
What they all said. Beautiful timber and a great outcome. The table easily sits quite comfortably in the more modern dining area. Well done.
Cheers

Thanks guys
Broke out the candles for dinner around it tonight but do you think I could find a box of matches anywhere!? The gas soldering torch was also no help...
Bryan, I'm also thinking ironbark is pretty likely
I had a bit of a look on the qld dept' of primary industry website yesterday and what they say about brush box seems to fit well for the colour and the amount of fiddleback that is in it as well. When I get a chance I'll try some burn tests (gas torch didn't help with them either).

Keen to hear if anyone has anything to say about the accuracy/quality of their information.Cheers,
Shannon.

Nice table. I think you did a great job balancing the wild grain in the table top.

Hi Shannon,
I forgot to ask about the "breadboard" end on the top. Is the top slotted into the board on the end or are they butted up together? I was thinking about movement due to humidity etc.
It's very nice and if you get sick of it I'll be happy to come around and pick it up....
Cheers
Bryan

The end pieces are just butted and held on to the leg assembly.
There are oversize holes holding the ends of the main top down, to allow for movement but the screws are just snug to let it slide.
Thanks for the offer to carry it away, but we are just getting used to it
Thanks everybody for the interest and kind comments.
Cheers,
Shannon.Cheers,
Shannon.
