Latest creation
Thois is my latest creation for your delectation (or not)It is a bookcase cabinet made mainly from jarrah with inset panels of some beautifully figured curly jarrah that I picked up in an auction. The mouldings are Tasmanian blue gum which is also a stunning wood with very pronounced curly grain. It's a vey hard timber and tricky to machine but a spiral head helps no end.
I finished it with a becker DM307
It is currently residing in a gallery in York W.A and I susepct it may well be an antique by the time it sells and sadly so will I.

I like it as well. If it doesn't sell, make some glass doors for it. The bookcase would jump into another league.
Cheers, Bill

Hi I did have the same Idea when I was making the piece but deciced to leave it as it is (I ran out of suitable timber aswell)
I had already made and sold a similar design which was a one piece affair as per photo.
If I could get the kind of money thay ask for bookcases down in Boranup gallery I probably would have gone with the glass.

Very nice work and a fantastic eye for design too. I love what you've done with the three timbers to give the piece that two tone (colour) look. Oh and the legs really finish off the piece beatifully
