Ah doncha luv it when I gets all sexy in me rubba suit
Some pics of todays chippings, got both breadboards cut and fitted, one is glued the other is ready to go first thing in the morning. Used the NBR (noisey bl00dy router) to cut the trench before chopping the mortices. Brought out one of Great Great Grandads Pig Sticker mortice chisels to make short work of the 50mm deep holes. Ready for the glue up (only glue the centre tenon, the ends float free with slots in the tenon for movement) Mortices are 12mm bigger on each side than the tenons. The shot of the locking dowel on the underside is a little hard to make out but it just gets sliced of with the jap saw.
And todays delivery from The Limpy Timber Merchant from Scrubby Creek, we all know him as Mal Ward. Two nice slices of fresh mango, yum. These are for an up and comming project, a queen size bed with a 3m x 1.1m bedhead, natural edge etc. More about that down the track.
And not black rubber but Cuba at 40 something mtrs

What's the funny bloke in a rubber duck suit got to do with a table?
Nice to read of the router making a long awaited entrance into the WIP.

Sometimes you just have to bite the bullet and use the NBR I don't have to like it though The rubber started in the other thread where I was bringing up art from the bottom of the sea.

Pops i think that photo was taken outside Claw's workshop during the 2008 Newcastle floods. He wasn't going to let a little thing like being flooded stop him from finishing a table for the client.
CH, had any more thoughts about the surprise? Maybe some found items, a fishing theme perhaps. All pointy bits removed of course. Those were the droids I was looking for.

Isn't it interesting
wetsuit half undone like that on HoZ doesn't do anything for me
but the same on claudine auger or uma thurman is another thing entirelyregards

Hey guys, thanks for the comments, wow my wireless is not working at the moment so I only get to check my emails, the forum etc before and after work so they tend to stack up a bit. &#%! Telstra?Dell, another story.
The wet suit isn't undone its just a P2 suit I use when in the tropics, two tone top green bottom black, stops getting scratched on wrecks, coral etc will sometimes dive in boardies but depends what you're diving on. That was a nice fish bowl Pops, it was about 40m down on a reef in Cuba great visability too.
No exposed bits on this table we are after the more modern look with clean lines etc so all joints etc are hidden, no screws, nails etc all just joints and glue.
Both end boards are attached and I started to sand the top with the belt sander but with 40.6C in the outer shed the air from the sander was burning my hand and I thought the sander would go up in smoke so went indoors and tided up the base. It now has its first coat of finish on. I will tidey the underside of the top up and attach the legs tomorrow so it will be looking more like a table. Will post a couple of pics after I have my diner (worms are getting busy)
