I need drawer advice

I am planning on building an entertainment unit which will have 2 drawers around 1000mm wide. The bigger of the 2 will be around 350mm high and 400mm deep. I plan to store my LP's, CD's and DVD's in this drawer. I am thinking a drawer carcass with a dress front, running on a good quality slider, maybe self-closing.
My concern is with the weight of the items, the LP's are around 17kg, the CD's 6kg and the DVD's 10kg.
I would appreciate some input as to whether or not weight is an issue, timber thickness for the drawer carcass (I will be using solid timber), bottom (probably ply) thickness plus any thoughts on sliders.

can you break the 1000 mm drawer into narrower sections?
say one or two sections for the LPs, ditto for the Cds and DVDs.

That way your 1000 mm wide front still provides the "clean look" of a single board that then hinges down to allow access to the media drawers.

At the width you are thinking of, 1000 mm, you'd need a 25 mm thick piece of no void ply for the drawers' bottom.
breaking the drawer into 3 or 4 units would allow you to get away with a thinner drawer bottom

16-19 mm thickness for the sides with a 17mm ply bottom should be fine; screw the bottom up into the sides from underneath with 50mm screws and that should comfortably hold a small child (you SHOULDN'T, but you COULD

). 25mm is definitely overkill, even with that width.
