True, but at least you know YOU made em, and you know what they were like before hand. Nice job. Now for the painted shot.

Your words are what makes this site so nice to be part of. I also trust that you were sharing this to the passer by during the Sydney Working with Wood show.

I am sure many shed a tear after that story.

    Well done on the doors.

Yes Christos, this is a good site to be part of, and that was my message to anyone I talked to there. I didn't try to send them away in tears though, I do that often enough when I sing!
The doors will now travel 1200kms to their new home in a few weeks and I'll see if I can post some before and afters when they are in.

Job very well done BB. The original maker of the doors would be proud.

here they are, going in at last! Getting the frame square in the hole was nearly as much work as making the doors. Final pics will come when the job is completed.

Beautiful work BB. Your proportions are perfect. An elegant set of doors and very sympathetic with the age of the house.

    Hi Burraboy,

I missed this thread. Geat WIP. Top job on those doors. I really like Oregon doors, strong but relatively lightweight, compared to Jarrah and Redgum.

    Cheers

I never did get around to posting the finished result. Another recent WIP on french doors made me look at this thread again. Here it is, on the left with the tacked on room removed and the decorative render replaced.

And here's the finished kitchen as well. Pantry cupboard with an old dunny door and a spice cupboard on the far wall also made from a recycled cedar door. The plate racks and shelves were fitted into an empty window hole Very happy with the end result.

Great use of space as it looks like a small kitchen.
