French provincial sleigh bed.
HI All,
Has anyone attempted to make a french style antique bed like the one pictured. I can't find anything on the forums. I was thinking of having a go at this design but to be honest i have no idea where to start. Do you make and rough blank shape all the sections, dry fit all the joints and then start carving?
I'm not sure if this is the right section to post in (virgin poster!), should I ask about in the carving forum?

I would think that you need to do the joints first, dry fit, disassemble and then go about to do the carvings.
Are you going to cover part of this with fabric as what is in the picture? That I am not sure on.

Hi Christos
I think you are right, I was thinking of rough shaping each section before I get to the joints but I can imagine stuffing up a joint and having to shape a section again. The fabric part i think i'll leave to an upholster.
Has anyone attempted something similar?
