It makes sense to heat your wax to make it spread easier (the beauty parlours do it all the time when they wax legs)and develop a deep shine.

Have you ever thought of doing a bikini wax when you have the wax hot?

A stoked up half 44 gallon drum or two would be the shot against Victorian humidity. Funny I always thought Darwin the capital of humidity.

    Thumbs up

Due to sveral circumstances beyond my control I have only just come upon this latest Woodwouldian wonder.

As always WW this is a most informative Wip and another splendid reproduction is forthcoming.

I note how purplish the black walnut is before the Linseed oil is applied.

The top two drawer fronts are some of the strongest purple I've ever seen in Black Walnut.

Default A George II Virginia Walnut Chest of Drawers – Part Seven

The polish eventually hardened sufficiently to be burnished and waxed.

I had the handles especially cast for this chest from eighteenth-century originals by Optimum Brasses in Devon. The escutcheons are stock items from Optimum's catalogue.

Another elegant piece. Thank you for the lecture WW.

How do you apply the instant patina? Do you leave the workshop elves alone overnight with their hobnail boots on having a party?
