If you look on their downloads page you'll see that their freebie versions are unlimited time/use crippleware, not trial versions.
"All products is free, no time limited. To using these programs printing and export capabilities, you are required to purchase a license."
If you need to unlock full functionality (printing and exporting the file) you need to buy a license...other than that, enjoy the freebie functionality.

    Thanks for the reply.

As I said way back (in an edit I think) they are not _completely_ unable to print or export. They can only print or export the first sheet. For small users this should not be a problem. Suits me. I just open another project and do the rest.

hmm....GoNest 2D seems stable enough, but Profile has crashed or failed on me with programmer's error messages several times. It also did some really weird sheet placements with simple rectangles, leaving quite unnecessary gaps.It was formerly some suite or other, and I wonder if it's languishing a bit. I would certainly not pay $400 for it. The interface is clunky and I am getting weird results.

There's also a complete freebie, mentioned here a few years ago - MaxCut - The New Free Board Optimiser

Yeah I have Maxcut, and mentioned it I think. But it definitely only does rectangles.

    Thanks Nick
I have heard of Optimiser but never knew what it was.

Only thing I know about nesting is in CNC.

EDIT: Sorry. It does do simple polygons, but not ellipses AFAICS

OK. I need to shut up until I understand this weird beast. GoNest 2d is actually very powerful, but again with a weird interface (unless it is an industry standard I do not get). You can import dxf files of any shape. It's just working out how to get them to the final sheet ????
