I like the one with one bleach but I think I would go with natural.

I like the one bleach, then the natural, however the colour of the table timber would also impact on which one I use

    Pete

PS Does the end piece just hang off the end of the table?

Pete :I am using Tassie myrtle for the rest of the table and that will have the same tonings as the runner. and yes the end piece hangs from the top but the mitre is joined with loose tenons.

OK, seeing how I like a nice contrast I'd go with the bleached runner

Bugger all right. That must've been a fair knock.

Is it too late to make it a bit narrower to remove the busted corner?
I make things, I just take a long time.

That's what I will have to do Waldo. About 20mm off the front and off the back as well to keep the top balanced . Ah well SWMBO reckoned the table was going to be too deep for where it has to live.

    bugger is right

    Narrower as Waldo suggested
slightly curved front - thus removing the offending corner

Ah, you snuck in a reply while I was on the phone

Clouds with silver linings and all that... Did you drop it or throw something at it?
    .
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

The top already has a curve of 50mm so I have cut that back .

I was lifting the top onto a platform which raises my bench holding it on either side . I had sanded to 400 after applying a sanding sealer and it slid through my fingers.

I think I would have preferred it to have landed on my foot BD

I have recovered from Mondayitis and have started putting WOP on the top

I usually like to spray NC laquer as it speeds up the finishing process but I have found that it is a bit susceptible to water damage if a water spill is not cleaned up fairly quickly

    I have laminated 50x25mm legs

    and cut tapers

I glued veneer on the 2 faces showing the join and I will arrass the corners to hide the glue line.

I have laminated the curved stretcher and cut out the drawer front .

Now to join em all together and make the drawer.
