    Default Isolation Project

This is a TV/Entertainment unit/display stand that I have just finished. It was started just before the isolation rules so perhaps not strictly an isolation project.
I posted a picture of the timber in the "On the Bench" thread so I thought I should show the finished product.
It is Blackwood sanded to 240 and finished with four coats of Crowie's WOP mix. The right angle joints on the ends are box joints or finger joints cut on the table saw with the aid of a jig I found on Youtube. I had to experiment with some offcuts so that took a bit of time to get right.

Nice and minimalist! I really like the way the top has been supported using those slender tapered braces.

How was the rest of the joinery constructed; housed rebates, Dominos/biscuits/dowels or something else?

    Hi Chief

I used housed rebates for everything else except where the end pieces are rebated on the end of the base. The brace under the top is a single piece notched into the uprights. I put it in to support the top, help prevent any possible racking and to add a little "character"

No shortcuts, just good craftsmanship. Love it!

    Nicely done Tom,
I remember seeing that as just bits of wood, in the “what’s on the bench”

    You must be impressed.

    Cheers Matt.

Thanks everyone for the compliments and "likes"

I think it is one of my better pieces so very happy with the final result
