    Default Jarrah Burl Dining Table

    Hi Fella`s,

Just putting the finishing touches on this Jarrah Burl i got from forum member Ed Wood. Cheers Ed for your hospitality and great deal on these burls.

This one is a decent size, it`s 2.1m long x 1.3 wide, great size for a dining table.

I decided to try something a little different with the leg design, have a combination of stainless steel and jarrah.

After a lot of time spent filling, finally got the final coats of Becer Acroma laquer on there earlier today. It`s a 30% Gloss Laquer, it`s my first time using this laquer as i`ve allways previously used Protec cat acid Laquers.

Here`s the burl in the first stages of filling

    Pics of the finished product

    cheers
    Brad

Seriously mate... photos like that aren't welcome on this forum... Too much envy!

Love it. Great job. I assume you did all the metal work yourself.

It reminds me of one made by Dorest Customs whose blog I follow. They used a in house CNC machine to cut the bases.

Hey cheers for the kind word guys, appreciate it

    Gumred,
I really like the Becker Acroma 30% Gloss, it seems to give a far superior finish to the Protec. It seems to be a good grain filler too, the only downside i can think of is the expense, but another upside is it`s supposed to be less toxic.
I`m using a HVLP gun with a 2mm nozzle, using the laquer at 10:1:6 laquer/hardner/thinners at 25psi. I have the fan pretty much wide open when i`m spraying, there`s a lot of material coming out so i`ve gotta be carefull around edges and vertical surfaces.

    Boz,
Love the look of that Claro Walnut table, very nice looking base on that one.
I spent a number of hours trying (too many LOL) to nut out this base, i had the local stainless mfrs bend and weld the basic frame to my specs.
It`s the first i`ve done in this style so hopefully next time round it`ll be a quicker process.

Here`s a pic of the base before the top went on.

That is sensational Brad. Very rare i like slab or burl furniture, but you have pulled it off, its spectacular. Your up there with Wongo as my favorite posters when it comes to style and execution. Keep it up,

Forgot to ask. The pics are so good. Did you get a pro or take them yourself?

Coming from someone i look up to like yourself thats a huge compliment Terry.
    Thankyou kindly

I`ve been working on my photography for some time, i`ve still got a lot to learn but a decent Camera and lens have made a huge difference.
