I've got a marri slab and I am thinking to turn it into this design, anyone came across with this type of joint? Please do help!

Couldnt upload the photo with my iPad so there's a link.
Also, anyone knows anything about wood furniture design copyrights? Is there any design restricted that we can't make it and sell it?

Regardless of copyright, hopefully, personal integrity would prevent you from stealing a fellow woodworkers design for profit.
If you are not sure if it is okay to do it ask Mr Howieson ([email protected])

I tend to agree. In this specific instance though, the designs seem to me to be very similar to things you can find in just about any furniture store, in anything from melamine to cabinet timbers. The things that really make the linked units stand out for me are quality timbers and quality workmanship, not so much the design.
The other day I described to my daughter how to find something in the garage by saying "It's right near my big saw". A few minutes later she came back to ask: "Do you mean the black one, the green one, or the blue one?".

What said.
There are only so many ways to make an entertainment unit. I am sure Mr Howieson won't mind if you make one that is simliar to his'.Visit my website at www.myFineWoodWork.com
