You guys get, if you're lucky a few hours at the weekend or of an afternoon to do woodwork and have to work all week. I get to do woodwork all week and still have to drag myself home to do some gardening or work around home at the weekend. If I get half a chance I go back to the workshop and work on my current project or some other woodwork project like the wood block prints or turn a bowl etc. If you had the amount of time I get you would be doing lots of WIPs too. I have been doing this and calling it "work" for about four years now, I just have to make sure it stays fun and doesn't become WORK!!!! so far so good. I am often amazed at how much some guys get done on their jobs over a weekend.

I know that you are not talking about me. I only get to move one piece of wood from one location of the garage to the other and call it a day.

Christos, I'm sure its not that bad. Anyway as long as you enjoy what you are doing it doesn't matter. One of my biggest problems is I can be very impatient, I really like to start something in the morning and be finished in teh afternoon. Oops picked the wrong job I at the very least, have to see some real progress.

A most unusual table and beautifully executed!

I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

Thanks TL, it did look good. I have another smaller one, hall table, on the drawing board. Now I have done one I will have to try a few variations. Tack Hama is insisting on having some input for a more modern design. We'll see.

Tack hama getting a bit uppity is she? Its good to have someone else to bounce ideas around with. I envy you.

Just for my 2 cents worth, you could do a kind of half leaf hall table that fits against the wall. Or a drop leaf table. ........

If it is a half leaf drop leaf hall table, then that would make it a stick.

You're close to the money TL, I was going to do the flat side to the wall but I would still like it to have just a little curve in it. I will post some sketches tonight. Could do a drop side, will give that some contemplation time.
Yes, you're right Christos. I love your sense of humor, you give me so many laughs.
