    Default Little round kitchen table

Well it has been a long time since I have posted anything. Lets hope I can still remember how to drive this thing.

This table was made for a spot in our kitchen that we like to eat breakfast. It gets just as much use as a homework/craft table.
The table we have been using was rectangular and while it was good to use it made access through a sliding door difficult.
So wifey decided we needed a round table. The entire table came from the last of my Hurfords construction pack timber. This really was the bottom of the barrel. The timber had lots of defects and gum veins. The only way I could get enough timber for the top was to do 50mm wide laminations. This still left quite a few feature in the timber but I was after a hardworking table that would not look ruined when it gets a bit of damage.

The table seems to be well liked but am getting many enquires about what sort of chairs I am going to make to go with it. It never ends....

    G'day Knucklehead
That is a nice looking table! Great work.
I have a similar table in Qld maple on a base with turned legs (not the original base) that I want to change one day. I really like the style of the rails and legs on your table. Are they hard to taper and did you mortice them into the rails? I'll probably start on mine round Xmas when I have some holidays - if I can get the maple for the base.
    Thanks for sharing the pics
    Cheers
    Baz

Beautiful table. The size and proportions work well.
