Low line Entertainment unit
I've been working on this project off and on for a few months, using lots of advice gained directly and indirectly from this forum.
Its not finished yet the components are only sitting together, I'm glueing them together next week.
but seeing it together for the fist time was wonderful.
I'll post a finished photo when its done

Thanks for your comments
I have been investigating finishes.
I bought a tin of both Rustins and Organoil Danish oil adn tested it on scrap.
It was a hard choice, but I've decided at this stage to go for the rustins since the finish is more durable and looks great.
But if anyone has any other suggestions i'd love to hear them.
i'm still very new at this

Matt, looking good.
When you're doing your test finishes, I'd recommend you test the end-grain too. I'd suggest you make a test piece that has the same profile as your top, and apply the finish to all sides of it. Some finishes absorb much more into end grain and make it look a lot darker. One way to minimise this is to sand the end grain with a finer grit, compared to the top. Only my 2 cents' worth...

Looking forward to seeing how this one turns out, we need to move our stuff off of the coffee table, so something like this might be next on the cards

Contact Yates. They will lay up plywood with any veneer - even let you go and select the veneer you want them to use.
