red cedar
They used to make surf boats from red cedar, so it has a degree of outside cultural history.
(Scott, this use of oil is a lazy man's way of saying they can't handle French polishing.)
The tough guys on this forum seem to like rough and robust timbers, are not used to handling delicate boards and the fragile grain of fragrant red cedar.
Scott, I know you're not like that however, gentle and caring with all your boards and now also apparently plastic!
