    Default Pergola span table check

    Hi guys,

Wondering if someone can validate span tables for me.

I am planning a pergola 5.5m wide, 9.4m long, gable roof, ridge running along the 9.4m axis.

Wind rating to n3 I think (Melbourne suburbs a few klms from the bay).

Planning 190x45 mgp10 treated pine ridge beam. Can someone check span tables ?

    Also 190x45 beams between posts.

    Perhaps 90x45 rafters at 900centres.

    Support appreciated.

are you having iron roof, plastic, shade clothe?

A sketch of what you are doing including bracing might be good, even a photo of a free hand sketch would help. Will the ridge be supported by anything other than rafters?

    Hi Dave. A polycarb roof.

Ridge supported by rafters. Wip drawing attached with following notes.

Posts at each end of gable will be centred (just moved them out of way while I draw some other bits.

Bottom chords will run side to side at approx 3m spacing.

All Rafters braced with collar ties.

    Glenn,

If no one else gets to you sooner I will try and have a look at the span tables later tonight after 'work', in the middle of prepping for a forum get together over the next few days
