Those Mr Plywood people might have got a really poor batch/shipment and they're trying to flog it off as A-grade.
How they do it, I don't know but the Scandinavian birch plywood and veneers are exquisite. Canadian birch makes the warmest, most interesting-looking solid wood flooring but I've not heard of any successful veneer operations. Seriously considering birch flooring for my house. SYNCRA Forest Products mill is a block away. They make really nice coffins too. Anybody need a fitting?

I will check that out, next time I'm in the city ( 2 weeks?) Should be 4 kinds:
1. Baltic birch plywood (all birch) and rarely more than 12mm thick.
2. "Good-One-Side" with birch on one face, don't know what the core might be.
3. "Good-Two-Sides"
4. Lumber-core (solid wood, not veneers.)
I want to ask about G1S cherry for doing wood cuts for printing.
