    Default Pool table

G'day fellas, i am thinking about taking up the challenge of creating a 4' by 8' grand pool table. The type of thing that goes "straight to the pool room"

Naturally i m looking for a bit of inspiration, so if you have a few stories and pics of a table that you have made feel free to post them up
    Cheers guy, Jordan

A pool table was something I always intended to make and never got around to it. I guess it s a bit late now but would make a great WIP if you go ahead with it.

Before proceeding with the table construction, make sure you have enough room to properly use it. Cue sticks are normally about 57-58 inches long; say 5 feet for comfortable use of any shots, measured from the face of the cushions outward on all sides. So, for a 4' x 8' table, the room should be at least 14' x 18', plus any wall appendages at table-top height. The dead zones in the rounded corners of the envelope can be used for accessory racks.

The largest room in my house is less than that, so I won't be buying or building a pool table. Note that snooker and billiard (no pockets) tables are usually larger than 4' x 8'.

    Cheers,
    Joe

This could be interesting to watch, not that I am pushy or anything.

Yeah i have always wanted one, and i have an obsession with timber and working with it. So it seems like a good good project

Yeah that is a good consideration

I will be sure to post plenty of pictures throughout the build. First job is to get a new chainsaw bar so i can mill the timber
