My son doesn't need brain surgery. He has a brand new brain because its never been used. Just needs someone to push the starter button!

Wish this humidity would #$@^ off, slows me down too much. Anyway got a bit done today. Shot one, thought I would pin them together while I clean them up. I have the curved joint fairly close but thought it would be easier to get the last knife edge better once I could see it better. So drilled 3 holes with the doweling jig down the right slab and pinned them into the left slab. Shot 2, run a line accross the face inline with the pin mark (as I have said before the pin mark is only for the distance between the holes) Shot 3 line up the doweling jig (which sets the depth of the hole the same as the first slab. Drill and tap in you dowel (in this case no glue yet as I will remove them to clean up the joint faces. Shot 4 dowels. Shot 5, pulled together with a clamp to stop it all squrming around. Shot 6, planning, planning, more planning. Shot 7, done, just a couple of low spots that I will get with the sander tomorrow.
Also trimmed to height and length along the way.
Tomorrow I will give the whole thing a sand and then go back to working on the curved joint. Pull it together, mark the high spots, pull it apart and plane them off, then do it again untill its right.
(Still putting coats of oil on the Mango Cocktail table)

I was going to write pretty much what Sawdust Maker had written about the fiddleback until I scrolled down past your last set of shots and read the replies. I will have to second that instead.
