That is a serious headboard and should be something of a conversation piece.
That curved joint looks more natural than a strait one and saves a bit of wood also.
Regards

When this is finished Claw, you might want to enter it the Guiness Book of Records. This will be some bedhead.
Was having another look at the thread title. Queen sized mangos must be damned HUGE!!

Got a little more done after spending the morning at Artisans Retreat for a bit of learnin and retail therapy. Also stoped at EZI metal at Raymond Terrace to pick up some more steel for the next art piece on the way through too.
The bed frame has been cut out and joints have been cut. The next step is to glue the top and bottom side runners together.
Photos, no its not an ad for Lie Nielsen but if you've got it, flawnt it. Its not that often I have so many LN on the bench at any one time. I have decided I need the LN low angle smoother but have to cool my heels until the bank balance looks a bit better
Some of these long boards of Mango tend to wander (they are not a straight grained tree so they just do what they want) a little so I decided to hand cut the mitres rather than use the drop saw. So far so good.
Oh don't think I mentioned, I went and looked at the 2 storey house and found I will have to make everything detachable so it will go up the stairs, even the head will be in two parts and joined once upstairs.

Not at all Christos, Half or more day off yesterday, off today (put a new seat on my pushy {for fat bums}, put some new wood shavings in the chook house etc, light work).
Tomorrow going to take Tack Hama for a drive in the country to look at some art galleries, ceramics and maybe a vinyard or two. Surprise trip, she doesn't know the destination

Hi Ray, TH dosn't know anything of my buying and selling planes and has no appreciation of fine art. She thinks she knows fine art but I know fine art isn't made of mud.
Monday will see the saw dust fly again, I need some legs to go under it and hopefuly Mal will have another slab down for the bedside shelves. The extravagance 2 1/2 days off

Progressing nicely CH. You were hiding when we left Artisans Retreat last Friday so never got to have a chat. Saved my money though - Adrian from Trend did not bring my nagura stone up.

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

Hey guys as it turned out TH had a lovely day and I managed to find more cast iron shoe lasts at an antique shop and some old sowing machine hand wheels that I was going to use on my bench vice but I may now use them as wheels on another art piece. Will post some pics when I get a chance. Also picked up some very large cinemon sticks that I might be able to incorporate into my furniture or art. Look and smell good.

has he scarpered?
is he unwell?
