Racing Car Bed plans...(Hope this is the right forum!)
Hi all,
I am a wood working newbie, and I hope a children's racing car bed qualifies as 'big stuff'.
I was wondering if anyone knew where I may find plans for making a racing car bed?
I am thinking just a simple frame, with mdf sides cut out in the shape of a F1 car and painted, but if anyone has any experience or ideas I would appreciate it.
I should mention that I am not overly skilled, but having built a vanity, shed and garden sleeper wall I am willing to give it a bash.
Thanks in advance,
Scott

Hi Scott,
I made a simple bed for my daughter, she was nuts over going driving in my ute so I made her her own.

It is pretty straight forward, I made the inner dimensions to suit the size of the mattress I had then extended upon that to make the tray and the front. I used a basic scale to get a close outline of the ute then cut the whole lot up with a jigsaw and dropsaw.
The ply I used wasn't fantastic so I filled it before painting. I bought a heap of 4 dollar paint cans from supercheap and off I went.
Hope this helps a bit.
Cheers,
Ash
