Red Cedar/Silky Oak/inlayed glory box/Wooden hinges
Red Cedar panel inlaid into main lid frame , Cross cut Silky Oak inlay into Cedar lid , dovetail box frame end joins , box frame inset into base 5mm and multiple screwed into base from underneath , Black Wattle hinges , purpose built to blend with lid design , inset into lid 2-3 mm , hinge pins made of Black Wattle as well . Box size 770 cm long > 320 cm high > 500 cm wide , have placed this in Box making as well but thought it might go okay here as well . took a few goes to get the desired result as most wooden hinges seem to be cumbersome and just attached as a hinge , what i tried to do here was to make hinges that compliment the overall design , and be part of the overall effect , hope this helps some folk to think outside the box , so to say , Finished in Bees Wax , which i mixed up myself , from some sweet smellin light coloured wax.

If he gets it without working for it; he's a parasite; and if he accumulates it after a life time of hard work, people call him a fool who never got anything out of life."

Lovely work. In the process of making a toy box for my nephew at the moment and was looking at going the wooden hinge route. I think you have sold me.
