    Hey Guys.
I only have one handle on yet the other one is just a piece of scrap. I wasn't sure if she would like the first one or not but it was all good so I will make some more for the other three.
Sunday was gallery sitting, excitement plus, what a waste of a good working day but I guess someone has to do it. So some pics of the beautiful wood block prints which someone put down on the gallery info as lino cuts I was the only one who was cut and some of the pots etc.
One pic there of Tack Hama's bowl that she had in along with a friend of ours who had the little knittted & felted bowls next to Tacks. Not one of Tacks better bowls but she did sell it so that was good.
Pic of the router bit, as I was using the drill press with the x - y vice the router bit would slowly work its way back up the chuck so I cut a 20mm sleeve of 3/8 copper tube which fixed its little red wagon. I was just feeling very pleased with myself, cut the mortices, glued up the upper frames super fast but then realised I had got carried away and had forgotten to drill the holes for the brass shelf pins bbbbuuuuga. I will have to buy a 90deg head for the drill now.
Tomorrow I have to go to another job at an IT office and mount some large computer screens to the wall for them and a few other odd jobs so the book shelves will have to wait again.
Another day or so in the life of a Claw Hama

Just can't imagine you sitting idle in a gallery all day Craw, didn't you take a little something to keep you occupied...chain saw caving perhaps After all that was discussed here about the whys and wherefores of wood and lino cut printing and they called it...a lino cut Tack does glass bowls aye there's has to be a chance for collaboration...bench top with glass hand basin...tables with billabongs...etc. So forget to drill the holes for the shelf pins = new tool...nice

Hey Christos I thought we had just settled on a smile.

Tack does ceramics SW, just another name for mud. I did ceramics when I was a kid. We used to build these huge "ceramic" dams in the local creek, flood the road and have a ball. Along with catching tad poles.

I did take my sketch book and tried to conjure up a few new ideas for the next leaf table, top is easy enough, just the legs, as before, is the issue. Think I have something though. Of course TH won't like it but thats how it goes. As for collaoiration, hmm our tasts don't always coinside.

So a lazy day eh sitting on your behind says he who wishes he wasn't.
At least I know why you were not at Trends Open day.

Why a 90deg drill head use a plung router instead if it will fit.

Sue was impressed with knitted & felted bowls she has done some herself including a tea set as per blog.

Hi Wheelin, only have 180mm to play with, tried my flexy extension but it won't take the 8mm drill bit. If I can just pick up a step down drill bit it would be ok but 8mm dosen't nornaly need to be steped down so I thing the 90thingy will have to do.
The knitted bowls are a bit of fun, Kathy is also doing some amazing rugs to go in the art exh but will prob not be for sale.

Opps sorry TH don't know me mud from me glass, looks like glass from where I'm sitting Back in the days when water was free, with the hose on full bore and the nozzle held in the ground, the front yard grass would rise like a carpet would, until it exploded, didn't flood the road though

Ah yes those were the days, when the bakers van still left horse manure, milk came bottles withcream on the top and tuppenny bungers were a boys best friend.

Bugga indeed Mr Hamma. I have a right angle drill but i can't get into to town for a while. I'll bring it home from work tomorrow just incase something comes up. You never know I might have to rush in to Newcastle to pick up a part.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

Thanks Tony, I have realised I don't need it though. Amazing what a sleep does, this one can be the one that has to have a pegeon hole section to store her wool. Which isn't adjustable and won't need the holes. In fact it has to be. So I must be more intelgent than I thought and the whole time my subconcious was realy telling my concious to make it without holes (what a lot of bull).
Ok have a great day guys & girls

Ok haven't passed away, just been busy. first pic, top part of the frame glued up with the lower section in the back of the shot, second shot Kauri slabs ready for slaughter, third shot, Kauri panels going into the sides of the last two modules so her wool doesn't fall out, forth all in (these are just tack glued into place and will be attached to the shelves once they go in, a little different I know) Last shot is just dowleing pins in ready to join a couple of shelf sections with all the natural edge sheves in the background. I have already trimmed and sanded these ready to into the frame

They're looking terrific Claw, was filling in the sides of the last 2 a last minute request or always the plan?
I'll let the insanity of diving under the Swansea Bridge go by BUT tell us more about the gallery ........

I reckon the bookshelves should never line up. It's hard enough being a borderline obsessive compulsive without having the furniture force order upon us. I've attached a pic of a set of bookshelves I made a hundred years ago, before Triton even. All I had was an old door supported by the bbq as a bench and a Black and Decker router and dovetail jig. Each module is a separate box and they can be stacked in any different arrangement BUT the only thing that has seen them restacked since they were first installed was termites!

Keep at it Claw, we have all been on the journey to the extent that we are expecting to be invited to the Grand Opening with the stitchers and bitchers .... we of course would be the woodies and goodies or, if wheelin and Sue come, it would be the turners and burners or, more probably, the meeters and eaters.

Hi Fletty. Ok, when I first got the job the 4th module on the far right was to be the one with the pegeon holes and no drawer (as a slab bench will be comming out of the 4th one as the last part of the job), then she changed her mind and wanted the 3rd unit to have the pegeon holes which meant that it then also had a drawer. Now she has asked could the 4th one again have pigeon holes as well as the 3rd (which she can for an additional modest fee). She didn't realise that I had put the panels in the side untill Friday but instantly saw the benifits of not having wool escaping from the sides. I did have a brain snap before and forgot to put the holes in for the adjustable shelves but then realised it was the 3rd unit and didn't need them anyway. I hadn't allowed any means of fixing the panels in so now the plan is to just glue tack them into position, fix the shelves/boxes into the frame and then just put some additional fixing into the panels (so essentialy they will just float within the frame)

I will post an invite to the exhibition in Oct (if I haven't already) could be some interesting odds and ends.

I like your bookshelves, these would be more funky if I had my way but with commissions you don't always get to do what you want. I have tried to slowly push in a few extra details.
