I have been out for a little while so I missed the last few posts. Well not able to spend so much time reading the forum. Loving the build.

That's because you spell it wrong.

I think they might do well with a directory on a touch screen computer. It will be one incredible program. Similar to the ones the book sellers have.

Christos a touch screen directory is not going to help the zombies.

First two delivered and assembled with a very excited client, she liked the drawer pull as well so that was all good. Forgot to get a photo in position, all a bit of a flurry with parking, rain etc. Will get one next visit.
Then it was back to the lair to start the last two. I will have to change my angle of attack on the photos etc if we want this thread to continue or we can pack it up and I'll find some other topic to gas off about.

I already have quite a few components rough cut for the next unit so it was a trim here and there and start cutting tenons. I have been using my sled to cut the tenons and it works well. I just lay the pieces flat to cut the shoulders with a stop set at 40mm, roll, roll, roll, too easy. To cut the cheaks I have a piece of pine clamped to the sled set at 90deg and set to take an 8mm slice of the cheaks. 16 ends in about an hour including a bit of a chat on the forum and most likely a cuppa in there too. So about 4 min per end.

Tomorrow I will grab another slab of Red Hog from The Solid Wood and Furniture Co warehouse at the end of the street and slice up a few more bits, then cut some mortices. When Fletty paid me a visit a while back he mentioned (yes you) that he had an x-y vice in the drill press for doing mortices. This was something I had considered before but I just hadn't worried about, ok now I have got myself a $75 x-y vise and will see what I can do with it. Yes I know it was a huge outlay of cash but thats just me being the extravagant person I am.

Ok end of sceen one. (waffle waffle)

Hi CH, you will have to modify the vise as shown in the closeup to reverse the direction of the slide. I simply drilled with a hand drill and tapped the 2 new mounting holes. The handles 'clash' but you soon get used to it. I find that I can cut a mortise in a minute and all of the mortices on the table legs took less than 5 minutes per leg....

Hi Tony, it ok I got the message, the thingy lives on.
Sorry Wheelin, don't know how I missed that thread. Lovely old piece to be working on, always nice when you can breath new life into something that old.
Had a bit of an odd day today, didn't achieve much but will pop a couple of pics on later.
