Love watching these type of vids and then walk away depressed knowing I will never in my wildest dreams create something as beautiful as that.

Then if you could....how long to manufacture something like this? @ $X per hour geez would you ever sell one.

sorry been a crap day, so much to do and so easily sidetracked by something else on the list. I think I have 10 different projects (not all woodwork either ) going and the list wont stop. Think I'll go back working full time.

That piece of extruded aluminium that hangs off the jointer will leave a nasty bruise on your hip when you walk into it. Oops it’s the guard funny place to have it.

I guess they don’t own any chisels, using a power sander to trim the plugs and a marking knife on the bevel side to chop out the frame

Looking around his workshop, nice setup, neat, tidy, lots of Festool gear, I would say he is a very talented and successful wanker who knows exactly what he's doing.....wouldn't you?

Although look at what they do in this, jimmy'ing up a lathe with plain old power drill, using a threaded rod as a mandrel, clamping the piece in with two nuts.

If it relaxes anyone, they use a chisel for the turning...

... leaving you free to get upset instead about how many $10's of thousands of Festool gear is in the shop while they go full Rex Krueger on a homemade lathe...

Yeah guess I was a bit judgemental.

I’m just not a you tube guy.
I’ve designed and made a lot of stuff and most of it was never even photographed let alone had a movie made about it.
Guess it’s all about clicks and self promotion nowadaze.
Their. ‘WOOD DESIGN’ You tube sign in the back ground and mindless comments from the masses leave me cold.
What they made is ok for a rough prototype but I don’t think I’d be confident of selling it to anyone and expecting it to last. Pine PVA staples.

Dont really need an endless debate about this, I do appreciate that we have a huge variety of taste and skills and background on this forum and that’s what makes it great.
I certainly wasn’t objecting to this being put up I just wrote my honest reaction.

I turned it off when I saw him ripping on the saw without a riving knife

Rex is a Youtuber, with a particular focus on making stuff cheaply with minimal tools. Some of his most popular stuff is also making shopmade tools, benches, and workholding setups with very cheap materials (often construction pine, bolts, and the like). I also like what he does on hot rodding cheap big-box store tools.

    Rex Krueger - YouTube

Of interest, in an interview I watched, he revealed that he does have expensive premium tools and likes buying some very nice ones - but never shows them on videos because he wants to show you can get by with inexpensive stuff. I didn't understand it as revealing a false modesty - he's quite up front about it.

I eye roll frequently about "I'm an average joe like you" themed Youtubers but quite like Rex. He does spruik for his patreon page but that is up front, and asking for payment for what he is providing (his own videos) which have value, not influencing you to buy a third party product.
