Hey guys, got more done today after fixing the oldies hot water system. Fire place was cleaned sprayed with a little flat black to schmick it up, filled in some of the missing cast panels with plywood and painted them black. A bit of a sand and tidy up and then put the first coat of chocolate varnish on. I did take some photos but left the camera sitting on the bench when I left for home. More excitment for tomorrow

Hi Ray (or is it Pa) central 1" bearings top and bottom. But we are getting a little ahead of the game, thats for tomorrow. Today was a second coat of finish, fit the tools, morror and fireplace for a final fitting and photo. I will strip it down in the morning and lay it down again to get access to the top and bottom to fit the bearings, weld the extension onto the poker and then thats about it. It was very cool in the workshop thisarvo and got tempted to light up. Feels pretty homey. It will also carry some of my usual embelishments

Hmm, I think this may just be a virtual fireplace

Virtual fireplace you say. Now if only we had virtual cold weather. Over the last few days at home I felt warmer at work as I work in the computer field and the data center is a constant 21 degrees.

Hi Christos, I don't mind the cooler weather, much better when you are working hard. I over heat in summer and it slows me down, I can work at full throttle this time of the year Very very wet here thismorning so glad I work under cover these days.
With air conditioning I was often out sliding around on wet rooves on days like this and wet roads doing service calls. NO thank you, I'll stay in my little workshop now.

Had to think (Pa!) LOL
Raining here all night long and windy, hope all is dry in the workshop Mark its looking good brilliant really. One of those false fire things would look good. I hope the owner of the Ford or Holden your knocking the wheel bearings off doesn't need them.

People will be saying "Watch out for the undercover copper in that coffee shop"

The whole idea brings to mind that scene in Young Frankenstein when Marty Feldman was standing next to the fire place and "revolving" at a dozen or more revs per minute
Just do it!
Kind regards Rod
