B-d - I think yopu will understand that for reasons of domestic harmony and personal well-being, the subject is closed.
If I had used turned knobs, I would have used Rose She-oak - the colour goes well & it's such a nice wood for knobs.... This sofa table was made many years ago & is is a loose copy of one I repaired, & where I first used the wood combination in the sewing table. I used she-oak knobs for it, (it was for a craft show, so I made all the choices...). No-one wanted to buy it, so it came home to live with me & now I've gotten attached to it. The knobs have darkened quite a bit over time, but still suit the overall colour scheme, I think.
Sorry to have stuck you with another job, but I'm sure it will just be a small proportion of the list if your boss is anything like mine.....
Cheers,IW

Top marks there Ian!!
I'm glad you did combine those two timbers. They work well together.

Peter - one of the things I soon learned making things for craft shows, was it was totally unpredictable. You'd have an item that 3 people would fight over one year, and next year no-one would even stop & look at it! I was just doing it to support our local woodies club, and I only made things that interested me, so if it had to follow me home, it wasn't such a bad thing....

Job Completed....
I've revived this thread so I can report that the table finally got its feet & scrotum. I fitted the castors some time ago, but had to wait for LOML to tackle the bag, which she has now done. Did a nice job, and it fitted the opening perfectly, so it was quite an easy job to tack it in place.
It's pretty much just as I imagineed it should be, so all in househod happy, I think...IW

It looks superb. There's nothing like a neatly pleated scrotum to smarten up the home.
.
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.
Regards, Woodwould.

Thanks WW. Due praise to LOML, who did a nice job, but then she's far fussier than I, & knows how to do things to cloth. I would have torn my hair out trying to get it right. I don't like working with fabric - #*@% stuff just won't sit straight & true - wood may move, but not to THAT extent. As you can imagine, upholstery is not my game!
Cheers,IW
