How to shape a stool?
I'm trying to make a table and stool set. Patio furniture, a small round tea table and two stools sort of thing. I am hoping to shape the seat with a shallow concave to cradle the bum. I'm seeking advise how this can be done without a lathe. Would a router be able to do it? Does anyone have any pictures of jigs that would allow my router to do that?
Thanks in advance.

Arbotech Turbo Plane would do the job. The company advertises on this site and provide a video of the tool in action.

Thanks guys for the tips. The finewoodworking article sounds good. Think I can modify it to make only concave without the prommel.
The turbo plane sounds like an excellent idea too. But I don't have the confidence to do something like that free hand.
Thanks again guys.
