All good points and thanks for the feedback.
Lig, one lot of fabric I've bought for the loose covers is actually antique (recycled from period hangings) and the other is a modern reproduction (including the 'fading') of an old chintz design, so the covers will be in keeping with the frame.
However, covers are sacrificial and are replaced periodically, so I wouldn't be too bothered by a modern fabric if it came down to it..
I know you believe you understand what you think I wrote, but I'm not sure you realize that what you just read is not what I meant.

Can't wait for the finished product.
I am curious to know what the estimated cost of materials are and the retail value of the finished product.

I used to make up sofas for customers and they ranged in price from about $5k to $12k depending on style, size and fabric.
There are 36.5 hours in this sofa frame (but I'm much slower than I was before I retired and I was in no hurry to complete this one). The timber cost around $120. Tight upholstery costs about $1.2k to $2.5k for a sofa this size (depending on whether it's hand stitched or not) and a loose cover costs around $600 to $700 with about 8 metres of fabric required which can cost a further $30 to $400 per metre..

U-Beaut sells/distributes the glue with instructions for use. If you search the forum, you'll find a dearth of information on preparing and using the glue.
