Default Suggestions for "sound permeable" door panels on a buffet?

So here is my buffet project as it looks like so far. Made of pine stained with Teak stain and finished with 3X coats of satin PU.

The lower middle shelf will have two drawers for CDs and DVDs. the upper middle shelf will have a multimedia player.

I want to put speakers in the side compartments, which I intend to cover with with doors hinged with European Concealed hinges. Because they will be in front of the speakers, the door panels need to let the sound coming from the speakers through.

My first thought was to use expanded mesh like this

I like the look of the mesh, but now I'm having second thoughts... Each of the holes in the mesh measures about 8 mm x 12 mm. So coarse that it will let the dust in and you will be able to see the speakers through it... May not be worth having the doors at all!

I think that cloth would sag and flop about... Maybe I can install aluminium flyscreen behind the expanded mesh?

    Any other ideas?

Hi GarciaJ, what an inspiring effort. I am planning a much smaller project that will also need to involve sound-permable doors. I was planning to use fabric stapled in place and then neatened up with some beading. I'm interested in what makes you think cloth would sag.
    Cheers

To be fair and honest, I don't know why I said that... I've been stretching canvas over frames for years for painting on to know better. The truth of it is that I saw the expanded mesh in a market and liked to look of it. I think I'll persevere now... If the dust gets in or I don't quit like to look of the result, I might stretch some cloth on the back of the mesh in the future.

    Thanks for the interest, Eliza.
