    Default table top

Just finished a table top made from 2 old kitchen benchtops one dark one light. Client needed a larger table to fit their new family (3 new foster kids) and they had the dark bench from a kitchen reno. I had the lighter one hanging round for years waiting for the right use.

Cut the edges off the dark bench using festool ts75 and 2 1400 tracks.

Cut the centre out of the lighter bench as had split at some time in storage .

Only needed a light plane with my stanley No6 and a trial clamp to see how they go.

Then out with my bestest favourite toy the Domino XL

It seems I forgot to take pics of the next few stages which consisted of a quick mark out every foot or so use the xl to rout out 10 holes for the 10x50mm tenons glue up using titebond3
    trim the ends
thickness down a piece of 90x45 Vic ash fit to end using the XL domino 10x80mm this time

Wait til next day used the rotex 150 to sand off the old surface finish

Started with a 60 grit then finished with 150 as this is the underside.

Hmm seems I didnt take pics of the next few steps which consisted of using the OF1010 to round off the edges and the surfix oil dispenser to put the new finish on

Flipped the top and did the top surface sanded to a 400 grit

Finished with a lambswool buffing pad
Will swap over top on their existing kitchen table next week.

Lazyness and trying to keep the costs down if I had used the darker on the outside would have had to cut and join it as well
