Cool stuff! I was contemplating using dominoes on my upcoming dining table project but hadn't come across many others that had. All the demos etc show traditional M & T joints, but I know I could do it quicker and more accurately with the Festool Domino system.

    Default Carbatec Taper Jig

I have the jig, found it to be a death trap. I was assited today by a carpenter of 30 years experience trying both a bandsaw and table saw. terrible with both. So congratulations. I am going to build one.

    Default Table leg tapers

    Hi Greggy Boy,

There was an article in Fine Woodworking some time past that described in detail how to make just the jig you are seeking for producing four taper legs on the table saw. The approach taken allowed for supporting the leg blank for cuts 2, 3 4 in the original position as for cut 1. It looked a most professional tool.Probably take a couple of hours to make plus you would need to buy a couple of toggle clamps and a few bolts and screw down knobs. I'll leave you to do the homework on seeking it out from the index.

I've made a number of sets over the years using the sled approach in the thicknesser referenced by other respondents. It a perfectly accurate approach buts its incredibly tedious and I wouldn't be going that way if I had a fair few sets to do.

    Cheers Old Pete

I used one based on Wongo's design for my redgum dining table last year and it worked a treat. Instead of the wedge to hold the table leg in place I placed a couple of longer wood screws horizontally through the ends of the jig to hold the leg in place. For me this held the leg in place firmly while I cut the tapers on the table saw.

    Cheers

    Bryan
