Hi Mark, 25mm for the top is a little thinner than usual is it not?

Big table though; keeping watch as my daughter wants one 1.5 metres square to sit 8 normally and she reckons if its family she can fit 12. No arguing with her, mind's made up!

That's a big beast of a table mate. Hope it doesn't have to go too far. I don't think it will fit in your little trailer.
Still hoping to get in and see it before it's shipped out. In Sydney for the weekend but should have at least one day in Newcastle next week.
Those were the droids I was looking for.

Hi guys, yes most of mine are 40 to 50mm but now and then I get one of these feather weights. It's a nice change from busting my guts on the heavy stuff. Yes it will (with a little gentle persuasion) go onto the trailer. Should sit upsidedown on the trailer with its legs in the air.
Trailers 1200 plus mudguards, tables 1500 so rather neat but on. In Smogney on Saturday so should be getting close to first coat Sunday, Monday 2nd & 3rd Tuesday 4th, Wednesday polish, delivery will be next Saturday I'd say. That gives you a whole week Tony.

It'll be fine, it won't be the first one to take the trip like that. I leave Newcastle at about 4.30 - 5.00 and in Smogney before most of the trafic. Usually home by 11.00

    Speedy work!

I love myrtle. I have a slab part prepared for a hall stand.

I agree with you comments on table dimensions. There is a similar discussion in a book by Tage Frid. He talks about having a "boarding school reach" for the wider tables. It reminded me of growing up in a large family.

The top seems very light for such a big table but I know what you mean about having something lighter to work with.

Looking good, Claw, your WIPs are always enjoyable. And the workshop looks great too, must be strange having all that space.

    Hi Guys
Workshop space is amazing, I really would have had trouble making a table this wide in the old workshop. I still have to reoganise this a but its working well at the moment.
Table dimensions are very important I think and most people (clients) don't really know how to work it out, they just know they want to seat X number of people. I often get them to give me the room dimensions, number of people (and how big they are), how tall they are etc. These people are spending $5000 - $6000 thousand dollars or more, you don't want to spend that sort of money and not be able to sit at your table squashed up to the next person unable to reach your mouth or have your knees hit the skirt or a leg. You should be very comfy after spending that money. Doing 5 years of Architecture with Tack Hama before starting this gave a good insite into design, space and comfort.
If its not in peak hour Christos its a pretty cruizy trip.
    More pics tonight.

Fantastic Christos, I'll bring a spare pair of overalls for you.
Todays efforts, shot 1, adjust the frame a tidge so the top snugs down into it. 2, top and frame ready to go together. 3, final smooth before sanding. Looking good from my perspective
