    I watched this earlier, I think the glass/acrylic top spoils the piece, not so much the idea of using it, but when you see the plan view the shape is not following the table top below and where the two parts meet in the middle the margin is not equal, also the two halves are only supported with two raised pins, which I think will loosen over time. One piece over the top and following the outside shape would have worked better IMO, so I think two pieces have made it too busy and are detracting from the rest of the piece.

    My thoughts exactly. The clear top is not up to the standard of the woodwork and is jarring. A single piece top would be much better. Especially as the point of the top was that the non-flat wood surface was not suitable for putting things on.

    Even though I prefer traditional cabinetry and design, I do enjoy this guys channel. The injury he sustained was horrific but hats off to him for picking himself back up and continuing.
