Thread: Timber Door Questions & Build

Well the windows are in and doors are hung. I ended up trying the PE glazing tape and it's a fail. I'll need to try to fix with silicone around the outside edge - hopefully that works. Either way i won't be able to do anything for a couple of weeks. Photo from the back, it was dark and I haven't had a chance to photograph from the front.

Altogether an interesting and educational 4 week or approx. 120hr (around work) journey for me making my first door(s). I'm relieved that aside from the glazing everything went smoothly and now the test will be longevity. I had always intended to try making a door, I just didn't think my first would be a pair of fairly huge (comparatively) ones like this. It was a good test of building a large structure in my small(ish) shop!

The doors look fantastic Dom. Have really enjoyed following the build of both the shed and doors. It must give you huge satisfaction now that is is nearly compete, a brilliant job and thanks for sharing it with us.

Going on holiday soon but when i'm back its onto the rear bi-fold doors and some interior lining for the garage as well as some structural beams to enable me to store timber under the rafters.
